Calling All Chess Players!

Open Chess Challenge with Dr. Jonathan Sarfati

Dr. Sarfati will play up to 30 chess players at once in the afternoon after the Mini-Conference to be held in the morning at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, WA. Players are selected on a first come basis and must bring their own chess board to the tournament.

Dr Jonathan Sarfati  Ph.D., F.M. is an accomplished chess master and a former New Zealand Chess Champion, representing New Zealand in three Chess Olympiads (he drew with Boris Spassky, world champion 1969-1972). In 1988, the International Chess Federation awarded him the title of F.I.D.E. Master (FM).  Jonathan has been known to play multiple chess matches while he is blindfolded. Jonathan more regularly plays multiple sighted challengers, up to 20 – 30 at a time.

Dr. Sarfati has performed this feat, against up to 12 challengers at once, at several major international conferences. A former chess champion of New Zealand, Jonathan is a scientist whose Ph.D. is in physical chemistry and quantum physics. He works for Creation Ministries International as a lecturer, scientist, and writer, showing how Christians can believe the Bible from cover to cover—especially when it comes to Genesis and creation vs evolution!

Dr. Jonathan Sarfati speaks at the Apologetics Forum meeting on Friday evening, November 19, 2021. He will be available to speak at churches, Christian Schools, Home School groups, and other venues within the Greater Seattle area during the weekend of November 17 to 21..
