Voyage To The Galapagos
Description: The Galapagos Islands are inextricably linked to Charles Darwin and his theory of evolution by means of natural selection. The islands’ birds, reptiles, and even plants, are promoted as “Exhibit A” in the case for evolution. How, then, should Biblical creationists respond to these assertions? What is the true meaning of Galapagos and its mockingbirds, finches, giant tortoises, and iguanas? Dr. Keith Swenson, Adjunct Professor of Natural Sciences at Multnomah University, takes us on a voyage to the Galapagos Islands, by means of beautiful PowerPoint images. He will show that Darwin’s islands, rather than being a great laboratory for the study of evolution, are, in reality, a magnificent showcase for Creation and the Flood.
Speaker: Dr. Keith Swenson is a retired medical doctor who now teaches courses in biology and geology at Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon. He also served for twenty years as President of Portland’s Design Science Association and was on the board of the Seven Wonders Museum near Mount St. Helens. The evidence indicates that the Ice Age occurred after the Flood, so the Flood must have caused a climate change right afterwards that resulted in a rapid Ice Age. Many details of the Ice Age have been worked out from over 45 years of research, such as it was only about 700 years long, and there was only one ice age, and there will be no future ice age. Bonus features, if talk an hour long, include the extinction of the woolly mammoth, Ice Age mix of warmth-loving and cold-loving animals and plants, the existence of big lakes in now dry areas of the Earth, and the mass extinction at the end of the Ice Age.

Whatever Happened To The Dinosaurs?
Description: This is a fun talk with lots of cartoons. It goes into the types of dinosaurs, which is important for how many dinosaurs were needed on the ark, a subject discussed later in the talk. Evolutionists have many problems with dinosaurs, such as what animal did they evolve from and why they went extinct. Other problems include dinosaurs living at polar latitudes, dinosaur living in the “desert,” and unfossilized dinosaurs with soft tissue that is supposed to have survived in the ground for over 65 million years. The last topic is whether dinosaurs were on the ark. If they were then there were post-Flood dinosaurs, which explain a host of mysteries, such as dragon legends all over the Earth, pictographs and other artwork depicting dinosaurs, and the likelihood that Job saw dinosaurs, such as Behemoth and Leviathan..

What Does The Lake Missoula Flood Teach Us?
Description: This talk describes the abundant evidence for the existence of glacial Lake Missoula at the peak of the Ice Age and its bursting forth creating the Channeled Scabland of eastern Washington in a matter of days. It focuses on the question of why practically every mainstream earth scientists rejected the Lake Missoula flood for 40 years, despite a overwhelming amount of evidence. The reason shows their bias against big events and shows why they will never see evidence for the Genesis Flood that stares them in the face. Now that mainstream scientists have accepted the Lake Missoula flood, they have gone on to postulate anywhere from 40 to 100 at the peak of the last ice age, not to speak of there other 30 supposed ice ages in the past 2.5 million years. Obvious evidence is presented that there really was only one large Lake Missoula flood. The features left behind from the Lake Missoula flood are then used to show that similar features all over the Earth were caused by a global Flood.

Mini-Conference: Evidence For Noah’s Flood
In this Mini Conference Michael Oard brings two seminars on the theme of Evidence For Noah’s Flood on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until 12 noon with a break after the first seminar, and extended Q&A after the second seminar:
- Session 1: Worldwide Evidence For Noah’s Flood – The evidence for the global Genesis Flood is provided by all the hundreds of flood traditions from all over the world. Evidence for the Flood is found in sedimentary rocks that commonly cover huge distances and show little or no erosion between layers—unlike how mainstream geologist interpret the rocks based on small events over millions of years. Trillions of fossils in the sedimentary rocks provide powerful evidence for a global Flood, since fossilization today is rare (remember that mainstream scientists rely on present processes to explain the past). Moreover, the fossil record does not show
evolution because of the gaps in the fossil record. Marine organisms, mostly mollusks,
that make up 95% of fossils are predominantly closed shelled, strongly indicating that
they were buried and fossilized rapidly all over the earth. This points to a global
catastrophe and not small events over millions of years, the alternative mainstream view.
Lastly, the talk delves into what we learned about the Flood from the eruption of Mount
St. Helens. - Session 2: Earth’s Surface Shaped By Receding Floodwater – A variety of evidences for the receding of the Floodwater off the continents will be provided. Geological evidence is first presented for differential vertical tectonics to drain the Floodwater. As the Floodwater first drains as wide currents, great erosion occurs with the formation of planation surfaces and the long transport of resistant rocks. As more and more land is exposed above the Floodwater, the water becomes more channelized forming another set of unique landforms. Water and wind gaps, pediments, and submarine canyons will be described. All these features are very difficult, if not
impossible, to explain by the uniformitarian paradigm, providing strong evidence for the reality of the Genesis Flood. - There will be an extended time for Q&A after the second seminar.

Description: Although the culture claims evolution is a fact, this talk goes into three main reasons why it cannot be a fact. First, evolution cannot be a fact by the definitions of evolution and science. Macroevolution is not observed going on today, so it is not science.
Second, evolution cannot be a fact because modern biology shows that every organism is vastly too complex to have evolved by chance, even with the pathetic mechanisms of mutations and natural selection.
Third, evolution cannot be a fact because it contradicts the Bible. Genesis 1 states that organisms were created by kinds and to reproduce within their own kinds and not into some other kind (macro-evolution). The Bible also teaches, summarized in Rom 5:12, that there was no death of man or the animals until man sinned, while evolution states that there has been mass death over millions of years before man supposedly evolved at the very end.

What Is The Origin Of The Grand Canyon?
Description: The origin of the Grand Canyon has been a huge mystery for mainstream scientists for over 150 years. This is demonstrated right away in this talk. Then the talk goes into the two creationists hypotheses for the origin of the Grand Canyon. It shows that the post-Flood dam-breach hypothesis, supposedly caused when 2 to 3 lakes ponded east of Grand Canyon by the draining Flood waters, breached several hundreds years after the Flood. There are many problems with this hypothesis, two of which seem fatal. The second creationist hypothesis is more likely and that is the Grand Canyon was carved late in the Flood by rapid channelized erosion. Evidence for this is presented as well as how each segment of the Grand Canyon can be carved by the draining, channelized Floodwater.

Distant Starlight and Biblical Creation
Description: We see stars and galaxies that are so far away, it seems their light would need millions or even billions of years for the light to reach us. Many people have used this to challenge the idea that the heavens and Earth were created merely thousands of years ago. This talk shows how this seemingly straightforward challenge relies on multiple assumptions being true—and at least some of them are false. Furthermore, it is not Biblical Creation which is disproved by distant starlight. It turns out that the Big Bang model has a fatal ‘light travel time’ problem of its own. The vastness of the cosmos does not disprove the Bible–instead, it supports the glory of our Creator.

The History of Western Thought
Description: Dr. Fernandes gives a brief overview of the history of Western thought showing that the Christian worldview has led to the freedom and prosperity the West has enjoyed. Now that the West is rejecting Christ, the future looks bleak. Once a culture rejects the God of the Bible, the loss of truth, morality, meaning, and the value of human life will follow. Only a return to the Christian worldview can save Western Civilization.
Speaker: Dr. Phil Fernandes is the senior pastor of Trinity Bible Fellowship and the president of the Institute of Biblical Defense. Fernandes founded the Institute of Biblical Defense in 1990 to help train Christians in their defense of the faith. He also teaches Bible, philosophy, and world religions at Crosspoint Academy and the Gateway School of Ministry in Bremerton, WA. He has completed doctoral work in both philosophy of religion (Greenwich University) and theological studies (Columbia Evangelical Seminary). New Testament Archaeology
Description: The New Testament of the Bible records the history of the Church, beginning shortly before the birth of Jesus. However, this important record is under attack by Archaeologists who have claimed that the Biblical account of history is inaccurate or even fictitious. Key events in Christianity, such as the crucifixion, have been challenged on archaeological grounds because no records of the Roman governor Pontius Pilate had been found. This multimedia presentation will review several well known Biblical events and figures that can now be substantiated by recent archaeological finds.
Speaker: Chris Ashcraft is a Christian educator employed as high school science teacher at Cedar Park Christian Schools, and adjunct professor at Northwest University. Chris has also worked in plant biotechnology. He was a research technician at the Cotton Fiber Production Laboratory at Texas Tech University, then at the Plant Transformation Facility at Oklahoma State University, and lastly was the Plant Transformation Specialist for EDEN Bioscience in Bothell, Washington.
He obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology from Wayland Baptist University in 1989, a Master of Science in biology from Texas Tech University in 1996, a Master of Education from the University of Washington in 2008, and a Master in Teaching Math and Science from Seattle Pacific University in 2012.
Chris moved from research science into the teaching profession to serve God in Christian education. His decision was motivated by the impact that secular science is having on people of faith. Today, close to 50% of Christian students lose their belief in God while attending secular schools. This tendency could be lessened if the Church was better equipped to defend the authority of Biblical teachings (1 Peter 3:15). To be prepared for these challenges, it is important that churches provide regular educational programs on creation and other Bible Apologetics.

Photosynthesis: An Evolutionary Dilemma
Description: Energy from the sun needs a mechanism to convert and direct energy to life processes but life processes are needed to be in place from the start to facilitate energy conversion to useful life energy. Photosynthesis is the extremely complex process that is critical to be fully functioning at the beginning before all other life could exist since all animal life depends on plants for all metabolic processes. This process is critical for plant metabolism itself! How could plants metabolize nutrients and carbon dioxide to develop without photosynthesis? No evolutionary answer for another un-answerable ‘Chicken and Egg’ problem. Did this process evolve concurrently with animal life over millions of years?.
Speaker: Ron Payne has a B.S. degree in Chemistry from the University of Washington and studied microbiology at Oregon State University. He received Christ 1969 in high school. He was actively engaged in the Navigator ministry at the University of Washington, Oregon State University and the Eastside Community Ministry. He and his wife homeschooled their four children through high school and has 6 grandchildren.
He was actively involved in the local Boy Scout Troop Leadership for about 12 years. He served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT at the Redmond Fire Department for about 8 years. He served as an intern for discipling and facilitator for Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University for a number of years in local eastside churches. He spent 35 years in the Aerospace Industry as a Senior Principle Materials and Process Engineer specializing in chemical processes, waste treatment, metallurgy, circuit board fabrication, metal finishing, adhesives, coatings, paints, cleaning, electronic assembly, procurement engineering and technical documentation.
He was a Board member for the Creation Association of Puget Sound (CAPS) and also for the Mount St. Helens Creation Center for more than 15 years. He has spoken and led workshops on various creation topics to homeschool, church groups and local creation forums. He specializes in creation tours to Mount St. Helens sponsored by the Mount St. Helens Creation Center and Dry Falls sponsored by the Apologetics Forum of Snohomish County, of which he is now a Board member (speaker and manages creation resources).

Earth: Designed For Life
In this Mini Conference Dr. Sherwin brings two seminars on the theme of Earth: Designed For Life on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until 12 noon with a break after the first seminar, and extended Q&A after the second seminar:
- Session 1: The Wonderful Oceans – Dr. Sherwin discusses the amazing variety of marine life found in venues from tidal pools all the way to crushing ocean depths over five miles down. He also talks about the critical connection between moon-induced tides and weather, and important paths or currents in the oceans mentioned in Scripture (Psalm 8). Finally, he addresses how the volume of water in the oceans relates to the Genesis Flood.
- Session 2: Hummingbirds By Design – Of all the birds of God’s creation, the hummingbird might be the most remarkable. Everything about these creatures shouts design. Their little hearts can beat more than 1,000 times a minute, while their wings beat from 50 to 80 times a second. Its specialized interaction with plants, visual color range, complex vocalization, unique flight, and physiological capabilities are a testament to God’s design.
- There will be an extended time for Q&A after the second seminar.

In 2021, he received an Honorary Doctorate of Science from Pensacola Christian College. Youth Night Out: What Your Science Textbooks Don’t Teach You
This program is designed for the youth and others with an interest in being able to defend their faith. The program is structured as follows:
- 6:00 pm – Games + Pizza
- 7:00 pm – Message by Dr. Frank Sherwin
- 7:45 pm – Panel Discussion with Dr. Frank Sherwin and Dr. Heinz Lycklama
- 8:30 pm – Dessert

Dr. Frank Sherwin, Creation Scientist and author, will be with us to bring messages during the Sunday School hour at 9:00 AM, and the worship service at 10:30 AM.
Sunday School: The Founders of Science
We have all heard of Newton, Kepler, Boyle, Faraday and others whose original scientific discoveries and research have paved the way for later generations. What is not well-known and in fact has been hidden or dismissed, is that most of these great scientists were also men of God and His Word. Learn ‘the rest of the story’ when it comes to the faith and dedication these people had to Christ and Scripture.
Worship Service: Your Origins Matter
This message is designed for students in secular schools as well as those working in secular environments. Dr. Sherwin looks at the first 11 chapters of Genesis and explains why they should be taken literally, not allegorically or poetically. He concludes with an appeal to Christians to know why they believe what they believe and why Genesis should be our rock-solid foundation for the Christian worldview.

War Of The Worldviews
Description: Everyone has a worldview. Sadly, many adopt a materialistic one that embraces Darwinian evolution as an alternative to the Genesis creation account. Ideas have consequences, especially when it comes to our origin and destiny. About half of Christian students who attend nominal Christian schools or secular colleges or universities forsake their faith before graduating.
