Geology and the Genesis Flood – Patrick Nurre @ Atonement Free Lutheran Church
Jan 21 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Geology and the Genesis Flood

Description: There are many geological anomalies that are better explained by the Genesis Flood.  This seminar will address some of the great mysteries of modern secular geology and how the Genesis Flood explains them. Such subjects include planation surfaces, the starting and stopping of a so-called ice age, living fossils, extinctions, and rock and mineral alteration as well as origin of the rock types.

Patrick Nurrespeaker and author, was in the second grade when he made his first big find – a large dinosaur bone in the alley behind his house!  That was the beginning of a love for geology.   Raised in beautiful Montana, he spent many days rockhounding near the Big Horn River.  This early interest led him to a lifelong study of the world of geology.   Patrick was trained in secular geology, but after becoming a Christian, he began to seriously reevaluate his previous evolutionary beliefs, and became, instead, a young-earth creationist.

Today, Patrick conducts geology classes (PreK-12) and seminars in the Seattle area, and speaks at numerous home school and church conventions on geology and our young earth.  He also leads a variety of geology field trips every year, including Yellowstone Park, where he helps families discover the Biblical geology of the Park. Patrick is the vision behind Northwest Treasures, a 501(c)3 corporation, devoted to creating excellent geology kits, curricula and education for all ages. To help in this endeavor, Patrick has written 17 books on geology, for all ages.  He is a long-standing participant in the IAC (International Association of Creation) Professional Development Program. In addition, he draws on over 40 years of pastoring experience. Patrick and his wife, Vicki, have three wonderful children and three grandchildren, and live in Bothell, Washington.

The Case For God – Dr. Juan Valdes @ Cedar Park Church
Feb 23 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

The Case For God

Description: Can Christianity be defended beyond a shadow of a doubt?  Depends on your worldview!  We have good arguments for you. The cumulative case for God’s existence is overwhelming. This talk is designed to present the four classical arguments for God’s existence. Each argument (Design, Creation, Morality, and Being) is presented clearly and objections are considered.

Speaker:  Dr. Juan Valdes  Juan has always had an curious mind and asked lots of questions growing up. Searching for answers has been his passion and a lifelong journey. He had his first debate in 10th grade Biology class. Juan believes people have good questions and we as Christians need to have good answers. He desires to live out the command in the Bible where we’re told to always be ready to give an answer and to do so with the right attitude (1 Peter 3:15).

Further, Juan feels called to equip young people for the battles they face every day in an increasingly hostile culture. He also desires to equip parents and pastors so that they’re able to engage the youth. Juan loves to see people emboldened when they realize that there’re excellent arguments in support of the Truth. Most importantly, he enjoys removing the obstacles that keep people from surrendering to Christ.

When Juan’s not traveling, he is engaged in the pastorate of his bilingual congregation in Miami, FL. When he has down time (which isn’t often) you might find him in a quiet place reading a book or fishing. Juan’s educational background includes graduate work at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and master’s degrees from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and Logos Graduate School. He also has a Doctor of Ministry in Apologetics from Southern Evangelical Seminary. Descriptions of many of Juan’s talks can be found here.

The Doubt Virus – Dr. Juan Valdes @ Cornerstone Bible Church
Feb 24 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

The Doubt Virus

Description: Doubt is destroying young Christians when their faith is challenged and they are unprepared to respond. Let’s help them! To further the dilemma, the answers provided by many range from irrelevant to heretical. Many of these young people find that nobody has a good answer and few Christians even care. What can we do to fight the spread of  this virus? Juan will help you identify the issues and prescribe a cure!

Speaker:  Dr. Juan Valdes  Juan has always had an curious mind and asked lots of questions growing up. Searching for answers has been his passion and a lifelong journey. A Universe From Nothing – Dr. Juan Valdes @ Atonement Free Lutheran Church
Feb 25 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

A Universe From Nothing

Description: This talk is a response to the latest attempt by scientists to explain origins without God. Naturalism, the foundation of modern science, will never find the right answer on origins, since by definition the Creator of the natural world must be supernatural. Hence, some of the most brilliant minds in modern science are proposing some of the most foolish answers to the origin question. Let’s deal with it.

Engaging Moral Relativism – Dr. Juan Valdes @ Emmanuel Baptist Church
Feb 27 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Engaging Moral Relativism

Description: Can Christians support a “What’s right for you, may not be right for me!” mentality?  Let’s see. This talk addresses the prevailing moral ethic of our culture. It is widely accepted by many (including Christian youth) that each individual can decide what is right and wrong for themselves. The talk presents a complete rebuttal of the main tenants of moral relativism and provides a strong biblical and rational foundation for moral absolutism.

Mount St. Helens: Evidence for Catastrophe – Bill Hoesch @ Atonement Free Lutheran Church
Mar 25 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Mount St. Helens: Evidence of Catastrophe

Description: Using 2 Peter 3:3-6 as a springboard, lessons are drawn from the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens that challenge us to the core about our views of earth history.  The events leading up to the eruption, the drama of the eruption itself, and its aftermath remind us that “millions of years” worth of geologic change can take place rapidly.  Belief in a recent creation and world-destroying Flood are reasonable.

Mr. Hoesch earned a B.A. in Geology from the University of Colorado and a M.S. in Geology from the Institute for Creation Research. In between these degrees he worked for seven years in petroleum exploration, both as engineer and geologist. Since earning his master’s degree, he served as a missionary for one year in China and then 17 years at the Institute for Creation Research in southern California – as information officer, speaker, tour-leader, and research assistant. Outdoor education, mostly leading tour groups to Grand Canyon has been Bill’s focus for the past several years. In 2021 he was called to become the Director of the Mount St. Helens Creation Center where he has served since October of that year.

Description: A study of dogs’ design, temperament, variety, and personality shows that they were created specifically to be companions, helpmates, and servants for humans. No other animal meets this requirement. Dr. Bergman shows with many examples why this is true and why we should thank God for the gift of this canine.

Apes As Ancestors Debunked – Dr. Jerry Bergman @ Atonement Free Lutheran Church
Apr 22 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Apes As Ancestors Debunked

Description: Dr. Bergman reviews the only book, Apes as Ancestors, ever published by a creationist that carefully examines the evidence showing that apes as human ancestors has been disproven from the peer reviewed paleontological literature. The 360 page 8.5 x 11 inch book is well documented by several thousand references. In Apes as Ancestors, four scholars take a detailed look at the fossil evidence, including numerous photos taken by the authors themselves. They describe the fossils, where they found them, what others have to say about them, and what can be realistically and reliably determined from the fossils. They focus on the evidence – what does it actually tell us? The results may surprise you.

Mini-Conference: Apes As Ancestors Debunked- Dr. Jerry Bergman @ Emmanuel Baptist Church of Snohomish
Apr 23 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Mini Conference: Apes As Ancestors Debunked

In this Mini Conference on Apes As Ancestors Debunked, Dr. Jerry Bergman brings two seminars on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until 12 noon.

  1. The Neanderthals: An Evolutionary Link or Our Brothers?
  2. Are Human and Chimps 98% Similar?

There will be an extended time for Q&A after the second seminar.

Head Of A Neanderthal Man.

The first seminar at 9:00 AM is on The Neanderthals: An Evolutionary Link or Our Brothers?

A history of the Neanderthal claims as our primitive pre-human forbearers shows they are fully human and not primitive evolutionary ancestors. The history of Neanderthal from an ape man missing link in human evolution to just another people group is documented in detail using color photographs.

The second seminar at 10:30 AM is on Are Human and Chimps 98% Similar?

A very common claim still occasionally employed to prove ape to human evolution is the claim that Chimp and Human DNA is 99 or 98 percent similar. In fact the similarity is no more 84 percent meaning that the difference is close to a half billion DNA differences. Dr. Bergman reviews the major evidence that exposes the 98% myth.

So They Are Without Excuse – Dr. Jerry Bergman @ Calvary Chapel Eastside
Apr 24 @ 10:00 am – 11:30 am

So They Are Without Excuse

Description: Dr. Bergman documents by logic and case histories the fact that a major reason people become atheists is a result of accepting Darwinism. The basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is! By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can’t see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of his divine being. So they are without excuse. Romans 1:20.

To Create Man, God First Had To Create a Universe – Dr. Jerry Bergman @ Summit Park Bible Church
Apr 24 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

To Create Man, God First Had to Create a Universe

Description: A well-illustrated presentation on the creation of the universe showing it was specifically designed for human life. Documents the fact that our Earth must be designed as we see around us, for life on our planet. This even includes lightening, volcanoes, the earth’s magnetic field, the five layer atmosphere, and the enormous oceans and seas. Without these systems no life as we know it could exist.  Gen. 1:26-31.

The Scientific Law That Makes Evolution Impossible – Mark Champneys @ Atonement Free Lutheran Church
May 20 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

The Scientific Law That Makes Evolution Impossible

Description: Evolutionists can run, but they cannot hide from the law. So why does everyone seem to avoid the subject of the second law of thermodynamics, both evolutionists, AND creationists? This lecture will take the mystery out of this foundational law of science, and explain its proper application to virtually everything… especially evolution. In science, laws make theories moot. So let’s face up to the law, and use our most powerful weapon!

Speaker:  Mark Champneys was born a fifth-generation Mormon, but became an evangelical Christian in 1973 after studying Romans. His journey as a truth-seeker led him into counter-cult ministry, teaching, and evangelism. His ministries include evangelism training to reach Mormons, children, and atheists. Mr. Champneys has authored six tracts, is a videographer, and regular conference lecturer. He wrote and produced the video documentary Evolution Demolition, as well as numerous other short videos on creation. Most recently, after much study, Mark produced a documentary on the second law of thermodynamics, entitled When Scientists Ignore Science.

Sexual Reproduction: Evolution’s Decisive Downfall – Ron Payne @ Atonement Free Lutheran Church
Jun 24 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Sexual Reproduction:
Evolution’s Decisive Downfall – God’s Decisive Design

Description: Plant and animal sexual reproduction scientifically defy logic – how it could have “spontaneously” arisen. It is a “one generational” process that needs to be fully developed on a chemical and cellular basis as well as physiologically in two distinct sexes in thousands of distinct species all concurrently and fully functional or there is no second generation. Natural selection cannot facilitate the development of sexual reproduction because it runs on sexual reproduction. Sexual reproduction is a most significant flaw in evolutionary theory since it eliminates the time factor (even if you assume an evolutionary time scale exists in the first place) in the equation:

Time + Chance + Sexual Reproduction +Natural Selection = New Species

Many evolutionists consider sexual reproduction the Queen of evolutionary problems with no explanation and almost always avoided, even more so than the chemical origin of life. They always talk about the “Why” but never the “How”. The “one generational” sexual reproduction problem is a very simple concept but a powerful apologetic tool to dismantle evolutionary theory and support Biblical design.

Speaker: Ron Payne has a B.S. degree in chemistry from the University of Washington and studied microbiology at Oregon State University. He spent 35 years in the Aerospace Industry as a Senior Principle Materials and Process Engineer specializing in chemical processes, waste treatment, metallurgy, circuit board fabrication, metal finishing, adhesives, coatings, paints, cleaning, electronic assembly, procurement engineering and technical documentation. He was a Board member for the Creation Association of Puget Sound (CAPS) and also for the Mount St. Helens Creation Center for more than 15 years. He managed and provided creation resources for CAPS and spoke on various creation topics to homeschool and church groups. He specializes in creation tours to Mount St. Helens and Dry Falls sponsored by the Apologetics Forum, of which he is now a Board member.

Worldviews In Conflict – Chris Ashcraft @ Atonement Free Lutheran Church
Jul 22 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Worldviews In Conflict

Description: While the United States has a firm foundation in Christianity and the vast majority of the population believes in God, we are unable to teach about God in our public schools. This presentation takes a hard-hitting look at the War of Worldviews facing Christians today, and examines the factors that have contributed to the secularization of US schools.

In 1 Peter 3:15 we are instructed to “Always be prepared to give an answer,” and yet most Christian are unable to defend their faith through logic, reason, and empirical evidence. Using recent surveys and events to demonstrate the impact of the worldviews conflict on our society, this message hopes to inspire scholarly pursuits and political action to face the challenges of the future.

Chris_Ashcraft

Speaker: Chris Ashcraft is a Christian educator employed as high school science teacher at Cedar Park Christian Schools, and adjunct professor at Northwest University. Chris has also worked in plant biotechnology. He was a research technician at the Cotton Fiber Production Laboratory at Texas Tech University, then at the Plant Transformation Facility at Oklahoma State University, and lastly was the Plant Transformation Specialist for EDEN Bioscience in Bothell, Washington.

He obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology from Wayland Baptist University in 1989, a Master of Science in biology from Texas Tech University in 1996, a Master of Education from the University of Washington in 2008, and a Master in Teaching Math and Science from Seattle Pacific University in 2012.

Chris moved from research science into the teaching profession to serve God in Christian education. His decision was motivated by the impact that secular science is having on people of faith. Today, close to 50% of Christian students lose their belief in God while attending secular schools. This tendency could be lessened if the Church was better equipped to defend the authority of Biblical teachings (1 Peter 3:15). To be prepared for these challenges, it is important that churches provide regular educational programs on creation and other Bible Apologetics.

Reasons For A Young Earth – Dr. Phil Fernandes @ Atonement Free Lutheran Church
Aug 26 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Reasons For a Young Earth

Description: Many of the world’s leading scientists believe that the world is billions of years old. Dr. Fernandes shows that this contradicts the clear teaching of the Bible. Christian leaders throughout the history of the church have literally interpreted the first eleven chapters of Genesis. It has only been since the rise of enlightenment rationalism and Darwinian evolution that Christian preachers and professors have reinterpreted the Bible to try to make it teach an old earth and a local flood. Dr. Fernandes argues that we should not change the clear meaning of the biblical text due to the changing theories of fallible people.

Phil Fernandes

Speaker: Dr. Phil Fernandes is the senior pastor of Trinity Bible Fellowship and the president of the Institute of Biblical Defense. Fernandes founded the Institute of Biblical Defense in 1990 to help train Christians in their defense of the faith. He also teaches Bible, philosophy, and world religions at Crosspoint Academy and the Gateway School of Ministry in Bremerton, WA. He has completed doctoral work in both philosophy of religion (Greenwich University) and theological studies (Columbia Evangelical Seminary). He has authored several books dealing with the defense of the Christian faith. Many lectures/debates/sermons are available on his website.

Answering The Challenges – Mike Riddle @ Atonement Free Lutheran Church
Sep 23 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Answering The Challenges

We answer some of the common challenges to the Christian faith:

  1. In Genesis 2:4 the word day does not mean a literal day, so why do they have to mean a literal day in Genesis 1?
  2. We should not let the age of the earth divide us. We should come together in unity and fight against evolution.
  3. My teacher knows I am a Christian and asked me if I believed in natural selection. What should I say?
  4. The story about Noah and the flood was borrowed (copied) from earlier stories such as the account of Gilgamesh. We know this because there are so many similarities between the two stories.
  5. The distant starlight challenge
  6. Scientists have proven the Bible is false
  7. The Bible doesn’t teach how God created.

Why The Bible Is True – Mike Riddle @ First Baptist Church Arlington
Sep 25 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Sunday Morning, September 25

Mike Riddle, President of Creation Training Initiative, will be with us at the worship service at 10:30 AM, and during the Sunday School hour at 9:00 AM.

Sunday School: Answering the Challenges

We answer some of the common challenges to the Christian faith:

  1. Gen 1:31 states that God’s creation was “very good”, however in Gen 2:18 He states, “it is not good”. Was God’s creation good or not? There seems to be a contradiction here.
  2. Show me any evidence for the existence of God
  3. Why would God punish someone for all eternity for committing small sins that don’t hurt anyone else?
  4. There are only about 6 verses out the over 31.000 that talk about homosexuality. In addition, Jesus never talked about it. So why are Christians against it? Shouldn’t you be focusing on more important issues in the Bible?
  5. If Jesus is the only way to God, then what about all the people who have never heard of Him?
  6. Why did God put the tree of the “Knowledge of Good and Evil” in the Garden of Eden when He knew what would happen?
  7. Suffering proves God is not a loving God.
  8. Creation is a secondary doctrine, therefore we should not focus on it

Worship Service: Why The Bible Is True

Powerful evidence why the Bible is the one and only true Word of God. The talk examines six criteria which demonstrate the Bible is true and can be trusted from beginning to end.
1. Testimony of the book (internal evidence)
2. Are there any differences between religions?
3. Who wrote the book (Bible)?
4. Which one agrees with reality.
5. Which one answers ultimate questions.
6. How do we get saved?

The Non-Mythical Adam and Eve – Dr. Rob Carter @ Calvary Chapel Lake Stevens
Oct 26 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

The Non-Mythical Adam and Eve

DescriptionMany people believe science has proven that Adam and Eve never existed. In this presentation, Dr. Carter digs into the science of genetics, using the most up-to-date information, to show how Adam and Eve are completely consistent with the data. Instead of discrediting Genesis, modern science affirms that we came from just two ancestors who lived only a few thousand years ago.

SpeakerDr Carter was converted to Christ at an early age, but did not know what to do with the theory of evolution. He always knew what he wanted to believe, but had no way to express what he was thinking and no evidence to support his views. In his freshman year of college, he was exposed to the information for creation for the first time and soon after adopted it as his modus operandi. He says he felt a tremendous joy when he realized his science and his religion were no longer at odds. This joy (and, he says, Creation magazine and the Journal of Creation) enabled him to get through the in-depth evolutionary training of his undergraduate and graduate programs with his faith intact.

He obtained a BS in Applied Biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1992. He then spent four years teaching high school biology, chemistry, physics and electronics before going to the University of Miami to obtain his PhD in Marine Biology. He successfully completed this program in 2003 with a dissertation on “Cnidarian Fluorescent Proteins.” While in Miami, he studied the genetics of pigmentation in corals and other invertebrates, designed and built an aquaculture facility for Caribbean corals, performed well over 500 SCUBA dives, many of them at night, and licensed a spin-off product of his research (a patented fluorescent protein) to a biotech company.

What Darwin Didn’t Know – Dr. Rob Carter @ Cornerstone Bible Church
Oct 27 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

What Darwin Didn’t Know

Description: Dr. Carter shares historical insight into Darwin’s past and the ideas that helped formulate the most widely embraced theory in science. Do Darwin’s theories on origins still stand up in today’s scientific world? If he were alive today, what would he think of the currently accepted evidence for his theory? In light of modern science, would he dare to invent an evolutionary theory of origins if he were still around now? Come find out What Darwin Didn’t Know.

Species Were Designed To Change – Dr. Rob Carter @ Atonement Free Lutheran Church
Oct 28 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Species Were Designed to Change

God’s Created Kinds

Description: We look at a new way to think about species and how God designed them to change. The thought that God created all species as we see them today comes to us from Greek philosophy, not scripture. Yet, Darwin argued that the Bible was wrong because species do indeed change. How does one answer this? First, we have to understand that there is a clear example in the Bible of a species changing rapidly (Jacob’s flocks). Second, we need to understand that species were designed to change because God used brilliant engineering and genetic problem-solving algorithms when He created them. God did not limit himself to static species but instead allowed for potential change in a multitude of ways. This includes the creation of hidden alleles, closely-linked gene variants that can only be unlinked during recombination, natural selection, epigenetic inheritance, and by setting up genomes to mutate in predictable ways in the original genetic blueprints of His created kinds. In fact, ‘change over time’ is a central tenet of modern creationist thinking.

He always knew what he wanted to believe, but had no way to express what he was thinking and no evidence to support his views. Mini-Conference: Engineering Principles – Dr. Rob Carter @ Emmanuel Baptist Church of Snohomish
Oct 29 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Engineering Principles

In this Mini Conference on Engineering Principles, Dr. Rob Carter brings two seminars on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until 12 noon.

  1. Genetic Engineering
  2. Amazing Engineering in Ancient Egypt

There will be an extended time for Q&A after the second seminar.

The first seminar at 9:00 AM is on Genetic Engineering.

The ability to change the DNA essentially any species raises challenges to the biblical worldview. Are humans allowed to monkey with God’s creation in this way? What if the changes are designed to improve or save human life? What if the changes would occur, or already have occurred, in nature? These are honest questions that need to be discussed openly. Yet, there are definite limits to what we are morally allowed to do. Specifically, the modification of human embryos is a very dangerous practice in that these techniques often induce abnormalities that the future adult human would have to suffer through. Also, a baby has no ability to give informed consent. Worse, the modern practice of genetic engineering often uses aborted fetuses or cell lines derived from aborted fetuses or leftover embryos from the fertility industry. This is a grave moral hazard. Despite the known problems, all aspects of genetic engineering should be not necessarily be outlawed, for there is a great potential benefit to humanity.

The second seminar at 10:30 AM is on Amazing Engineering in Ancient Egypt.

The ancient Egyptians may not have had the wheel, and they never mastered some as simple as the arch, but they build amazing things in their near-treeless world by becoming the masters of stone and sand. From exquisite stone vases carved from the hardest basalt to the Great Pyramid of Cheops, they were both artisans and engineers. This insular society had forgotten almost everything about the God of the Bible, yet they joined together to make long-lasting monuments to their greatness that still awe us today. How did they do these amazing things? The answers are ingenious.

Youth Night Out: Biblical Worldview As It Relates To Science – Dr. Rob Carter @ Atonement Free Lutheran Church
Oct 29 @ 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Youth Night Out: Biblical Worldview & Science

This program is designed for the youth and others with an interest in being able to defend their faith. The program is structured as follows:

  • 6:00 pm – Games + Pizza
  • 7:00 pm – Message by Dr. Rob Carter
  • 7:45 pm – Panel Discussion with Dr. Carter and Dr. Lycklama
  • 8:30 pm – Dessert

DescriptionToday, bible-believers are a great minority among practicing scientists and are subject to much persecution. Yet, modern science was developed on principles directly derived from Christian theology. Despite that history, science today operates without even token admission of its roots. How does this affect current scientific practices? Can we trust the conclusions of all those men and women in white lab coats? Can science operate in a moral and ontological vacuum? We will examine three examples of how the turn from belief in God has affected modern thought: geomorphology (the shape of the earth’s surface), fossilization (the process of preserving the remains of living organisms), and genetics (specifically as it relates to the genetic history of mankind). In each of these subject areas, we will examine the evolutionary scenarios put forth to date and weight them against solid biblical exposition. In the end, we will see that the evolutionary conclusions for each of these subjects is derived more from starting assumptions than it is from reality. Science belongs under the umbrella of Christianity.

The Alternative: Creation’s Competitive Edge – Dr. Rob Carter @ Emmanuel Baptist Church of Snohomish
Oct 30 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Sunday Morning, October 30

Dr. Rob Carter, Senior Scientist at Creation Ministries International, will be with us at the worship service at 10:30 AM, and during the Sunday School hour at 9:00 AM.

Sunday School: The Science of ‘Race’ vs. the Biblical Worldview of Humanity

The subject of ‘race’ is a hot-button topic in the world today. The biblical answer is clear. The scientific answer is also clear. And they both say the same thing — there is but one human race and humanity has not been on this planet for more than a few thousand years. Modern DNA analysis has destroyed 150 years of evolutionary, racist, and/or eugenic storytelling. In the end, this is a Gospel issue, as all people descend from Adam and are related to our “Kinsman Redeemer”, Jesus Christ.

Worship Service: The Alternative: Creation’s Competitive Edge

1 Peter 3:15 commands us to have answers and always be ready to defend the Christian faith. This presentation will supply people with vital information about fossils and the Flood. The Alternative: Creation’s Competitive Edge is a great first time presentation designed to train people in how to share the Christian faith using the creation account found in the book of Genesis.

12 Reasons Why The Bible Is Unique

HolyBibleOver300HolyBooks  MoreHolyBooks

2 Tim. 3:16, All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.

Description: Religions are based on their holy book(s). There are over 300 ‘holy’ books in the world. The Christian faith is based on the Bible. The Bible claims to be God-breathed, 2 Tim. 3:16, and authoritative in all matters that it addresses; it is infallible, inerrant, complete and final. Is the Bible just another religious book or is it the Word of God? We look at evidences for Truth in the Bible in 12 different areas – direct claims, unity, manuscript transmission, canonicity, teachings, history, science, prophecy, Lord’s testimony, durability, ethics, and supernatural power. The Bible matches reality; none of the so-called ‘holy’ books in the world comes anywhere close.

Heinz 4

Speaker: Dr. Heinz Lycklama earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics (1965) and a Ph. D. degree in experimental Nuclear Physics (1969) from McMaster University in Canada. Since then he has worked in the telecommunications and computer software industries at Bell Telephone Laboratories in NJ and at Interactive Systems Corporation in CA – as an individual contributor and in management positions. In 1992 Dr. Lycklama founded Open Systems Technology Associates (OSTA) to offer his technology management consulting services to various start-ups in the high technology industry. In 2013 Heinz founded the Apologetics Forum to help equip believers in the defense of The Faith.

Being challenged in his Christian faith by what he was taught in university in the 1960’s,  Dr. Lycklama has always maintained an active interest in the Creation vs. Evolution controversy. He has developed a series of lectures on Creation vs. EvolutionChristian Apologetics, and Biblical Worldview over the years and presented the material in Sunday school classes, to college students, during church services, at Bible Schools, and other venues in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America. With his knowledge of the Bible and science, Dr. Lycklama has continued to develop and present new material in these subject areas.
