Description: The Genesis Account, a new book by Dr. Jonathan Sarfati, is a classic commentary on Genesis 1–11. It defends the biblical creationist position: creation in six consecutive normal days, death resulting from Adam’s fall, and a globe-covering Flood, and confusion of languages at Babel, and in the process it explains how the rest of the Bible interprets Genesis in the above straightforward manner.
In his book and his presentation by the same title Dr. Sarfati demonstrates that all doctrines of Christianity begin in Genesis 1–11, and he straightforwardly answers the commonest objections to a plain understanding of these crucial Genesis texts.
Does God exist? How can anyone believe in religion when science has neither a need nor a place for God? Is evolution happening today? If God is a God of love, why do we suffer and die?
Dr. Jonathan Sarfati answers these questions and exposes the bankruptcy of the evolutionary myth. This is an issue that affects everyone. Evolution teaches us there is no need for God, there is no spiritual realm, and there is no afterlife. According to the theory, spirituality is just an evolutionary trick of the mind!
The Bible gives a very different picture about the nature of these things. In this presentation, you will learn how the scientific evidence, when properly understood, confirms the details of the biblical account.
Note: After Dr Sarfati’s presentation we will take a break, followed by an extended one-hour Q&A period during which you will have the opportunity to ask him questions related to Creation, Evolution, Science, the Bible, etc. Most of the questions will be answered using visual aids via Powerpoint. He has written numerous books, articles and pamphlets on all of these topics in his 20+ years in the Creation Ministry.
Speaker: Dr Sarfati is a dual citizen of Australia and New Zealand. He earned a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from a secular NZ university. Dr Sarfati co-authored papers in mainstream scientific journals including one on high-temperature superconductors published in Nature when he was 22.
Jonathan was a co-founder of an Apologetics Society in New Zealand, then joined Creation Ministries International in Australia in 1996. In 2010, he and his American wife transferred from the Australian office to the USA office near Atlanta.
Dr Sarfati has authored some of the most popular and powerful books on the issues of origins, strongly defending biblical (‘young earth’) creation and refuting the strongest arguments for evolution and millions of years. His first book, Refuting Evolution, has sold half a million copies, making it the best-selling creationist book of all time (apart from the Bible!). His latest and most important book is The Genesis Account, a thorough 800-page theological and scientific commentary on Genesis 1–11.
Jonathan is also a chess master and former New Zealand chess champion, and drew a tournament game with former world champion Boris Spassky. One specialty is playing simultaneous chess games, sometimes ‘blindfold’, i.e. from memory.
