In this Mini Conference on God The Master Designer, Dr Jonathan Sarfati brings two seminars on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until 12 noon.

1. Origin of Life: Fatal Flaws of Chemical Evolution
2. Biological Robotics: Incredible Design in Life

There will be an extended time for Q&A after the second seminar.

The Mini-Conference is followed by a Chess Tournament with Dr. Sarfati, a chess master and former New Zealand chess champion, challenging up to 30 chess players at the same time at 1:00 PM. Register online here.

The first seminar at 9:00 AM is on the Origin of Life: Fatal Flaws of Chemical Evolution.

Evolutionary dogma states that life arose coming from non-living chemicals. However, the more we learn about the complexity of even a ‘simple’ cell, the harder this is to accept. Modern science has shown that all cells contain many tiny machines and other nanotechnology, and the world’s most complex information processing systems. Further, real, observational chemistry works in the opposite direction from the chemical evolution conjecture foundation. And if life can’t start naturalistically, then Darwinian evolution is dead on arrival.

The second seminar at 10:30 AM is on Biological Robotics: Incredible Design in Life.

We can tell when something shows evidence of having a human designer. So when things in nature show those same characteristics—only on a much more complex level—it makes sense to attribute that to a Designer as well. Jonathan discusses several evidences of magnificent design in nature, including DNA, molecular machines, the complexity of the cell, and more. He also demolishes arguments of ‘bad design’.

Speaker: Dr Jonathan Sarfati, chief scientist at CMI, is a dual citizen of Australia and New Zealand. He earned a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from a secular NZ university. Dr Sarfati co-authored papers in mainstream scientific journals including one on high-temperature superconductors published in Nature when he was 22.

Jonathan was a co-founder of an Apologetics Society in New Zealand, then joined Creation Ministries International (CMI) in Australia in 1996. In 2010, he and his American wife transferred from the Australian office to the USA office near Atlanta.

Dr Sarfati has authored some of the most popular and powerful books on the issues of origins, strongly defending biblical (‘young earth’) creation and refuting the strongest arguments for evolution and millions of years. His first book, Refuting Evolution, has sold half a million copies, making it the best-selling creationist book of all time (apart from the Bible!). His latest and most important book is The Genesis Account, a thorough 800-page theological and scientific commentary on Genesis 1–11.

Jonathan is also a chess master and former New Zealand chess champion, and drew a tournament game with former world champion Boris Spassky. One specialty is playing simultaneous chess games, sometimes ‘blindfold’, i.e. from memory.
